David Maranha
Born in 1969, david maranha, started his work in music in 1986,
both solo and with the group osso exótico from whom is founder.
Created in 2005 with jasmine guffond, patrícia machás e torben
tilly the band organ eye, in 2006 bowline with francesco dillon
and in 2007 Curia with afonso simões, manuel mota and margarida garcia.
Plays and releases his music on a regular basis in Europe and
in the USA, since then. His late works, using traditional or classical
instruments sometimes modified, focuses on small variations of
harmonics and overtones, on the opposite of scientific, more in
a ritualistic approach. He also develops his own projects as
architect since 1993
Afonso Simões
Afonso Simões is a portuguese born musician mainly working with drums and
percussion but also synthesizers and electronics. Drummer and founding
member of the now defunct free-rock duo Fish&Sheep, which recorded several
cd-r's and one lp "Double Banana" for the Ruby Red Label. F&S were the
backing band of Matt Valentine and the Bummer Road's european tour and
following that, AS became a live member of the band in Europe, performing
later at the All Tomorrows Parties Festival, Nightmare Before Xmas.
Last year joined the band Gala Drop, now in the process of recording
their debut for American grizzly records, out early 2008. Recently jammed
live with Manuel Mota, Mayo Thompson, Rafael Toral, Helena Espvall,
Mean Motion. A. Simões also runs Rafflesia Records, a cd-r label.
Stefano Pilia
Stefano Pilia was born in Genoa in 1978. He lives and works in Bologna. An electro-acoustic composer and multi-instrumentalist who has realeased various recordings with both Italian and foreign labels , has toured Europe and the USA, collaborating with artists as well as musicians. His work has become progressevly concerned with the research of the sculputural dimensions of sound and it's relations with space both through instrumental executional practices and investigations into the recording and production process. He is one of the founder members of 3/4HadBeenEliminated, a synthethis between improvisation, eletro-acoustic composition and avant-rock sensibilties. He generally plays live as solo and with 3/4HadBeenEliminated and frequently collaborates on the sound-tracking (both live and on CD/video) for the productions of Zimmerfrei, Cosmesi, Homemovies and Wuming2. Riccardo Wanke
Riccardo Wanke. born in Genova, Italy in 1977; lives and works in Lisbon. He has been working in the experimental music field since 2000 (long term collaboration with Giuseppe Ielasi, Francesco Dillon, Renato Rinaldi, Stefano Pilia, Andrea Belfi, Metamkine). Member of Medves group. His work has started from pure radical improvisation and has drawn to the investigation of drones sounds, static and looped music. The central point of his recent work are the binaural beats in musical compositions. Andrew L. Hooker
Andrew L. Hooker was born in England in 1962. He is a painter and film maker and currently lives and works in Bologna. He has previously worked with video and photography in collaboration with various international magazines and record companies and has exhibited his work in galleries throughout europe and the states.
At the present time he is working on a 400 hour film installation which combines "traditional" oil painting with high-definition video and lo-definition animation in a radical exploration of the effects and possible relationships between "displaced" notions of ART theory, canonized durations of ART consumption and perceptions of self within the socio-political dystopias of hyper-modernity.
